The vitamin D3 is an important fat-soluble vitamin that contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system and muscles.

Vitamin D3

• Vitamin D is involved in maintaining a normal Calcium level in the blood and thus in maintaining healthy bones (for which sufficient Calcium levels and parathyroid hormone are needed).
• Vitamin D promotes the absorption of Calcium and phosphorus via the small intestin.
• Cholecalciferol (vitamin D3) is also produced photochemically from 7-dehydrocholesterol in the skin.
• Promotes healthy immune responses in vitamin-deficient individuals.

Vitamin D3 contributes to:

• a normal function of the immune system
• a normal muscle function
• a normal blood calcium level
• normal absorption/utilization of calcium and phosphorus
• the maintenance of normal bones
• maintaining normal teeth

An increased need for vitamin D3 can arise with age as the body’s own synthesis decreases, during pregnancy or due to insufficient sun exposure of the skin.

The daily dose of 1 capsule contains 2,000 IU (50 mcg) vitamin D3.
