Description
The guard
333 IU vitamin A (505 mcg) 1,000 IU vitamin D3 (25 mcg) work synergistically to support a normal function of the immune system.
Vitamin A and D metabolites are highly interactive. Both are known for their positive effects on the human immune response to viral disease, GI and respiratory tracts.
Vitamin A+D3 mse contains retinyl acetate, a naturally occurring storage form of vitamin A, combined with vitamin D3 in form of cholecalciferol.
The highest amount of vitamin A is found in the liver, mucous membranes, eyes, lungs.
Promote healthy immune responses in vitamin-deficient individuals.
Vitamin A
- promotes the maintenance of healthy mucous membranes, supports normal skin, iron metabolism and cell specialization.
- contributes to a healthy vision (in form of retinal, vitamin A is part of the photoreceptors in our retina).
Vitamin D3
- Vitamin D is involved in maintaining a normal Calcium level in the blood and thus in maintaining healthy bones (for which sufficient Calcium levels and parathyroid hormone are needed).
- Vitamin D promotes the absorption of Calcium and phosphorus via the small intestin.
- Cholecalciferol (vitamin D3) is also produced photochemically from 7-dehydrocholesterol in the skin.
need for vitamin D3
- An increased need for vitamin D3 can arise with age as the body’s own synthesis decreases, during pregnancy or due to insufficient sun exposure of the skin.
