Taurine is a naturally occurring sulphureous compound, an amino sulfonic acid.Taurine is the most common amino acid in our cells after L-glutamine. Taurine belongs to the non-proteinogenic amino acids and is therefore not involved in the formation of proteins. Taurine is a component of bile.

There is no evidence that taurine has a stimulant effect.
